Yeah, its been decided. But although this is the case, I can't say there's a prize awaiting the winner this time around. The closest thing you'll get is your pic in the Contest Hall of Fame folder here in the group gallery.
While the prize may seem lackluster this time around, though, it doesn't stop other people from giving additional prizes to the winner. So to the members of this group as well as my personal devwatchers, you're free to do this as you see fit.
With that, let's get this underway.
Contest: Albino/White Super Sonic
You know, when I became a fan of Super Sonic back then, like most of you here, I thought he looked awesome with his golden spiky appearance that came straight from the Super Saiyans of Dragonball fame. That said to me that, unlike certain other people who still persist even today, its okay to directly take inspiration from other stuff, 'cause after all, nothing is original, right?
But, while that may be true, now I've realized that, despite that, you have to try to be unique as well. Especially if the guys that you took inspiration from suddenly decide to sue you for money or other alleged justifications. Fortunately, in some cases, simply changing the color of your concept will avoid such a lawsuit.
Picture this: What if Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragonball franchise, suddenly decided to sue SEGA because of Super Sonic resembling exactly like a Super Saiyan (bar the red eyes, of course)? What will SEGA do, then? Get rid of him, or simply change his color? Let's assume the latter, then. If Super Sonic isn't allowed to be gold anymore, what other color would best fit him, then?
Three years ago this month, I was watching the anime, "Soul Eater." Seeing how the titular protagonist looked cool with his white hair and red eyes and seeing Japan's fascination with using the albino color scheme in anime, I decided to do a little passive experiment with my concept of Super Klonoa by turning him into an albino. An artist stepped up to it, and lo and behold, Klonoa did look better that way. In fact, WAY better once I got better artists to do him. Not only did it made him look unique, but it better fitted his status as being one with the wind which is often depicted with a white color.
And then later, when I became a brony, I applied the same color scheme towards Super Rainbow Dash as well. Turned out it fitted her greatly as well, because in the world of Equestria, white as seen as good while black is seen as evil. Not only that, but when you mix every color into one in the light spectrum, it turns into white.
So, what about Super Sonic and the hypothetical lawsuit, then? Would white be a suitable alternative for him? For me, yes. I can't see him in any other color in order for him to retain his awesomeness, really.
Thus, we come to the point of this contest. I want you to draw Super Sonic as an albino. That is, pure white with red eyes. The pose and scenario are up to you, so as long as you acknowledge the fact that Hyper Sonic is multicolored and was merely nothing more than a non-canonical bonus in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. 'Cause honestly, if he was canon, then why haven't we seen him outside of S3&K yet? =/
This is optional, but as in the last contest we had, you may include Klonoa and Dash in your entry as well, to complete the trio of white light.
As I've said at the top of this, whoever wins this will get their entry into the Contest Hall of Fame folder. It is up to everyone else to grant additional prizes.
Your deadline is March 21, the release date for the PS4 exclusive, "inFAMOUS: Second Son."
To submit your entry, submit them into the group's Contest Entries folder.
